Avoid avoid avoid Still dealing with an issue with a car I purchased in sept 2022 It was sold with less than 1 month MOT. I returned it for an MOT. It has since broken down and they agreed a repair that by Halfords whilst the be car was under an extended warranty. Halfords explained there were numerous other repairs that were required and advised that these repairs should be completed by Peugeot. I took the car to Peugeot on Wednesday 18th of Jan 2023. The warranty company and phantom have refused for the repairs to be completed by Peugeot stating that the warranty cannot be used at a chain, this is despite the initial repairs being completed at Halfords. I was then told to return the car to Halfords ‘because they had ripped me off and phantom were unwilling to agree to any further repairs’ I was repeatedly questioned about the repair despite me repeatedly explaining I am not a mechanic. The repair video and report from Peugeot includes a significant repair required to the sump gasket and coolant hose. There were other numerous faults including a corroded part of exhaust. They knowingly sold this vehicle with a number of issues - it requires a further £1000 worth of repairs The two sales man lied and said under our extended warranty our car would be recovered if broken down and we would have a courtesy car. The aftersales team are now refusing repairs Staff have no integrity or guilt. You are also unable to contact the director - no details shared!! Now fighting for a refund

DISGUSTING service levels form this… shocking service levels form this company, chose a car online and based on pictures provided, paid deposit to them and was assured fully refundable, I already had finance in place so agreed to buy with peace of mind should anything not be right I wouldn't be out of pocket, they then took a further fee from my credit card (without authority) for the supposed admin fee and claimed the finance company said they could do it (the finance company dispute this) the company invoice the finance who paid them for the car so I booked half a day off to go collect, when i arrived the car was not as described at all the rear bumper was heavily scratched the windscreen cracked and a headlight badly marked and this is when the service levels dropped further, I said I wasn't accepting the car and the salesman quipped ''well I don't know how you'll do that it's been paid out'' he got another manager who came out said they wouldn't do anything the car would sell as is and I could have my money back. the company has paid the finance company back and I have since gone on to buy a car from a great garage with good customer service values yet I am still chasing my deposit back (seems to be a common thread after reading the reviews) I would have gladly left these people a fair review had they done what they had agreed despite wasting time and money travelling to see a car that wans't as described but constantly chasing a refund that part of the money shouldn't have been taken form the card in the first place has made this experience very sour, I have been speaking with the credit card company who state they shouldn't have stored my details on the card to be able to take a second payment in any case so i am now further concerned from a GDPR point of view that my details are not safe. i will update3 my reviews of the company as time goes on so you are aware of how my further dealings with them goes. STILL NO DECENCY TO REPLY TO MY CONCERN ABOUT MY OUTSTANDING REFUND AND ALSO MY REQUEST FOR AN ANSWER AS TO HOW AND WHERE MY PRIVATE CARD DETAILS ARE STORED RE THEIR GDPR POLICY, 4 MESSAGES LEFT, 3 EMAILS AND NOW A 5 PAGE FORM TO FILL OUT FOR CREDIT CARD COMPANY RE SUSPECT FRAUDULENT USE OF MY CARD! DISGUSTING!

I recently purchased a BMW X1 off Phantom Motors this sale was a part x on a Mercedes’ which I purchased from a Mercedes main agent . The service I received was excellent in many ways, from the price I was given for the Mercedes’ and the no pressure sale .. I can honestly say the experience was far better than I had received from a Main dealership.. one person to individual mention is Chelsea she was a true professional,answered all my questions, and returned all my phone calls very quickly I cannot recommend this company highly enough ..

I always think twice before leaving a negative review, but in this case I do feel it is warranted. If you do buy from this company get the additional warranty they try to sell you, its worth its weight in gold. I bought a Mercedes Coupe from The Phantom Motor Company on 24.11.2021. Issues straight away which were reported. Then more issues which were reported on 24.12.2021 via email. I received a reply from them on 05.01.2022: “You are covered with a 12 month warranty, so if you ring law data on 01767310009, and give them your registration number, they will direct you to the nearest garage to where you live to get a quote for any work. Once you have a quote, email us, and id the quote sounds reasonable, will will tell them to Carr on with the work, and we will pay the invoice” Reported 26.11.2021: *Car would not lock (Now resolved, needed a new remote battery) *Driver's side air bag warning light is on - now resolved *Only 1 key fob was supplied - now resolved *Front & rear parking sensors not working Reported 22.12.2021: *Drivers side front suspension has a loud squeak when driving and this is slowly getting louder. *Stop/Start of the engine (so when stationary) does not work *Only 3-wheel nuts on the rear passenger side wheel (one is missing) *Brakes judder slightly when braking.  I was informed that the brake pads had been replaced on the MOT Additional issues: *Passenger side electric seat stopped working along with the heater *Reversing camera stopped working I run a few companies and spend a lot of time on the road, so I have found it hard to be able to schedule in for the car to be inspected and be off the road for the day so in my own error I held off getting the car checked out. The vehicle got to the point where I knew I had to get it sorted so I finally booked it into a Mercedes specialist who spent a full day going through the various issues (and I was charged £150 for the privilege by the garage). There were 9 pages of fault codes, they informed me the car had been accident damaged and that the suspension "squeak" was actually a damaged wishbone and the brake pad issue was actually warped discs. Once I had the report back I contacted Phantom to get the car repaired. I emailed them and was told to bring it in and they would make all of the repairs that I had emailed them (I had sent the PDF's of the issues and fault codes the garage had given me). I have just collected my car today (15.07.2022) and Phantom refused to repair the wishbone or the warped disks because I have been using the car for the last 6 months. This was refused by a company director. It does not matter that I reported it within a month of the purchase – they are saying this is fair use. I raised the issue with the chap giving me the keys back and showed the emails etc but was told it had been refused by the director. I told him I appreciated it wasn't his fault and I wasn't going to waste either of our time arguing about it. They did repair everything via a 3rd party warranty that I PAID FOR, no doubt making some money out of the repairs. I am not expecting a single thing from Phantom, just giving a truthful review of my situation. In addition to the long list of vehicle issues, the actual customer service has also been very poor, with zero communication throughout the time the car was being repaired. Even reporting the issues I had to get my assistant to ring over and over as no-one responds to emails or answer machine messages. Even when I first bought the car, they told me to come in on a Wednesday and it wasn't ready for me and still needed to be MOT'd, so just an hour and half drive wasted in rush hour traffic. Whilst they were repairing my Merc I was given a courtesy car (for the 2 weeks and 2 days they had my vehicle), a Passatt, which had wheel/steering wobble on the motorway, poor brakes, heaviest steering imaginable, no working air con, no working reversing sensors, stank of cannabis smoke and was generally an awful car to drive. I did want to post the email that was sent to them but there is a restriction on characters which is a shame. I know this is a large company and errors do happen, but the fact that the director (who had reviewed my email) chose not to fix an issue that was clearly their fault when it had been sold to me speaks volumes about how their business must operate from top to bottom.

Do not buy from them terribly disappointed. Ben at sales very bad doesn’t know how to talk to people. Please don’t buy from them.

Bad experience with this costumers advice.. they have sold the car to 2 different people.. The managers have to find that sales advisors are so bad not polite at all. Poor costumers services. Unbelievable I have paid deposit and all finance sorted ready to collect, but unfortunately they sold the car Ben at sales don’t know to handle costumers.

2nd car with Phantom and excellent sales experience on both occasions. Slight issue with the 2nd car but Alan in after sales took care of the issues. I am definitely coming back to Phantom when I want an exchange of vehicle.

Hi guys, just want to give some advice for anyone looking to purchase from PHANTOM MOTOR COMPANY WIGAN in what I’ve witnessed and experienced today and I’m utterly shocked. I was in several conversations with Ben there in relation to a red Bentley continental supersports reg M77 TJK, it’s got 16k on the clock, was apparently stored for 7 years but mot history states otherwise. It looks like it’s been used, not dry stored. It’s last service was in 2013 at Bentley, since it’s had nothing. I put a deposit down and said the only condition I have is it needs to have a full service which was confirmed to me several times and Ben and Harriet at oracle who were going to assist in the purchase. I said I own a garage I’m a master tech and know these cars so please make sure it’s right. Ben said I had nothing to worry about and I quote “anything it needs will be done including the full service” Today I leave home at 6am after a flight, taxi and train I arrive at 1pm. I ask while they’re digging the car out can I see the service paperwork. A lad called kevin took over the sale as Ben conveniently was away. He said yep the full service has been done, I check the paperwork from the “Bentley specialist” and it’s had an oil and filter change. I then ask questions as to why. They said we did what was needed. I reply that’s not what’s needed. So Kevin goes and gets his manager. (I’ve not even seen the car yet). Meanwhile I call Bentley and ask them to quote on my account what it needs, to me £2300 worth of parts inc brake hoses etc all overdue. The manager comes down and says look we’re not going to spend that on the car, take it or leave it. I reply your salesmen told me it would have a full service and I queried it several times as I wanted it right. It went from going to Bentley to the super car specialist and now it’s been some Bentley specialist and had the bare minimum. 1.5hrs later the car arrives at 2.30 after telling me it was blocked in and another guy told me they had to put the wheels back on so again mix of stories. I look over it, within 2 mins, the boot carpet I pull up, the spare wheel well full of water and rusted corroded water sloshing about all down into the air suspension compressor looming. I’m told it was just where they was cleaning it. I say mate water doesn’t rust in the boot from cleaning it. Now alarm bells are ringing. I start the car, hissing from the engine bay, turn it off, takes 20 seconds to die down, servo pipe is split somewhere buried. I check around with a torch to find major rodent damage everywhere. I point this out to the sales manager who says look it’s clearly not safe I don’t want you to have the car. I then state you’ve done a pdi on this, you’ve sent it to a Bentley specialist and they’ve said nothing so it was safe 2 mins ago and now it’s not safe. His reply “your one of the blokes we hate selling cars too”. Nice one mate thanks. Meanwhile I can’t find the locking wheel nut (they just had the wheels off as one lad told me) I mention to the guy. We can’t find it. The bloke takes the car away to they’re unit, comes back 10 mins later and tells me it was in the centre compartment and I missed it. Me and my fionce opened it and nothing was in it. I tell them if they can sort me a good deal on the car I’ll take it still and sort the issues. The manager says he will go ring the principal and see what deal he can sort. He goes upstairs never to be seen again. Gets one of his salesmen to come tell me it’s £500 off or leave it. So I was writing this at 5.45pm in Wigan, stuck trying to work out how to get home as no flights til Monday and a train is 10 hours home and doesn’t run through the night. No compassion or even a sorry from a single person. Lots of snidyness and everyone hiding from me and my fionce. We was left alone for a good hour with no communication as to what was going on. When I arrived they’re sales guy said we turn over 150 units a month here, I say if you split the money I need back on this car to do the work over them units it’s not even £20 a car. He said we don’t make enough money on these cars to do that. ???? I even asked if they had a trade car I could buy cheap to get home, no real help or even a remote try to help me find one Please be careful and don’t use these guys.

Immaculate = scratched and scruffy paintwork, ripped leather, kerbed alloys, grubby interior and dirty non polished exhaust tips. The clearly filtered photos look nothing like the actual car. A quick spray with water (to try and hide the flaws) and apparently that's the car prepared for collection. When pointed out to salesman = "oh we can fix all that". How about fixing it before advertising the car as immaculate and saying its ready to be driven away?! Avoid at all costs.

Hello Mr Cole Hibbert (Director) We left our Land Rover for repair on 12/7 and at the very beginning we informed Your staff that on Friday 19/7 we must have a car back because we have a ferry from England to the Holland and we drive it to the Poland. Every day we have called several times about any information about our car and nobody gave us a specific answer! On Wednesday the 17th your mechanic said that you will have to send the car to the land rover service because you can’t fix the fault, but car was sent to Land Rover in Bolton on Thursday evening !!! We asked for contact with the general manager and nobody even called us back! We got a staggering auto replacement !!! We are very dissatisfied with the service and we want to talk after coming back from Poland with the main manager !!!! You destroyed our holiday because we had everything planned for this car !!!

PURCHASED AND DREAM CAR - TURNED INTO A NIGHTMARE Many issues when first purchased but not identifed until the vehice was dropped off. Missing log book, chips in window screen, key fob not working, engine oil low and suspension problems. Vehicle has been back to the garage 5 times and they are unable to fix the issue but also created more, getting oil on the cream seats and loosing the locking nut for the wheels. The director only responded to my many emails after i put a review up and that was asking to remove. The service manager ignored all my calls and messages until i called off a different number. No the garage refuses to refund if i take to a local garage to get repair. I now have to pay myself and try and claim back and make complaint through trading standards. Please read other reviews im not the first and wont be the last. The warranty they promise is a lie!!!!

Recently purchased a car from here upto buying the car service was great all questions answered etc...once my wife had purchased the car and we got home we found a fault with the battery not holding charge i contacted phantom and was told to send a copy of the reciept for the new battery and i would be reimbursed. I did this and got no reimbursement also found that the locking wheel nut was missing and the A/C pump was locked solid i contacted phantom again multipul times and didnt get another reply when asked if i was going to be reimbursed for the battery and what i was to do in regards to the missing locking wheel nut key ...seems they will bend over backwards to sell you a car but arnt bothered about any after sale care!!

Great service. Made very welcome. Vehicle was as described in advert. Only issue is that I still have not received the service history and owners manuals as promised for the vehicle.
Would definitely use Phantom Motor Company Limited again.
