I had the misfortune of being hit by a car on my cycling commute home from work.
My friend is a group cycle leader with British Cycling, he recommended that I call Cycle Law Scotland to see what options would be available to me regarding bike damage etc. Being keen cyclists themselves they would approach the situation with a greater level of understanding than similar companies.
From the outset I found them to be very thorough in the information they gathered in relation to the incident and extremely detailed, and clear, in how they would deal my case, any potential fees and milestones etc.
The whole process from my point of view (taking the actual collision out of the equation obviously) was virtually painless. Sign some documents, take the bike to a repair shop and attend a medical.
Cycling is one of my passions and the process of getting back on the road after the accident and cycling confidently was going to be tough enough, the less extra to deal with the better. Just what was required!
We arrived at a very satisfactory settlement with the 3rd part insurers...
If anyone else has the misfortune to be involved in a cycling accident I would not hesitate to 100% recommend Cycle Law Scotland to help you out. With best will though, I obviously hope I don't have to.
