I rang up to cancel my energy as I was still in the cooling off period. The sales staff were friendly and said it would be done and I would be sent an email to confirm this. After waiting nearly a week and knowing I was coming to the end of my 14 day to cancel I rang the company who my new energy was going to be to check it had been cancelled. It hadn't and my direct debit was also still active. This has disappointed me a little as I would have ended up paying a fee to leave the company. Please don't say you will do something for your customers if you are not going to do. It only confirms I made the right decision in leaving Golden egg this time, as mistakes like this cost the customer money.
